Class Evaluation

> The things that i like about this class is being able to sit next to my lovely friends. I enjoy seeing the videos that Mr. Haymore shows to the class. I also enjoy the 5 minutes we get to read our daily life planning goals.
> Things that i dislike about the class is the fact that that i have to sit next to my fellow classmates.
> Recommendations for improving the class would be to have more activities to do. For example to be able to get up from your seat and meet new people.
> A highlight for me in this class was when Mr. Haymore would do a CTR Card check. When he would spin the wheel and depending if the person had their card or not, you would boo them.
> I really did do my best in this class. This class has easy tasks that could be completed without difficulty. Due to the fact that this class is easy i was able to try my best and meet the requirements possible.
> I am reading and writing in my Life Planning Goals Journal as well as in the Sharpen the Saw portion of it all and i am reporting daily. I will admit that i am having trouble remembering to report on the weekends simply because it is the weekend and i get distracted with my family and all the other responsibilities i have to take care of besides school work.
> I am not committed to being a CTR person and seeking Personality Development because i am a person who makes mistakes, therefore, i am not perfect. Since i am not perfect and i make mistakes i do not live like a CTR person. Don't get me wrong, i try my best to do the right thing, but there are moments where i take action before thinking of the outcome.

In my opinion in order to get fully out and explore new things you should take baby steps and try what you can with people you are familiar with.

The 10 keys to Personal Power

The 10 Keys to Personal Power

Brian Tracy

Key 1: Clarity

Quote: "Have vision. Determine what you want to be, do or have in life. Have a sense of direction and know where you're going. If you do not have clear specific goals in life, you are doomed forever to work for others who do."

Having clarity in your life is important because it helps the person determine what you do in your life and how your life is impacted. It is necessary to view what you are going to do in life when it comes to your goals and or challenges that you face everyday. You as a person should have an idea about what type of achievements you want to see throughout your life. The majority of the time, self motivation is key and is necessary to use as a tool. Make sure that when you self motivate yourself it is for the greater good. Also, know what to expect. Do not simply assume because that is can lead to scenarios that you process in your head that may never come true.

Key 2: Competence

Quote: "If you commit to excellence, opportunities will always come your way. The harder you work, the better you get."

Competence is important because you should be successful throughout your life and begin to view situations in a positive manner. For instance, when you complete an action that is effective, you can have an impact on other persons besides your friends or family. For example, if you decide to talk throughout the class time, you could risk having every single person stay in side the class during lunch or after school. That would mean that your actions effected others that weren't close to you in any way. Competence takes part because if you are constantly successful and finish tasks that are necessary to be completed than it will be effective to your others that are involved in your life or not. For example, your success might motivate others to do better because they see  how your life may be turning out.

Key 3: Concentration:

Quote: "Make the best use of your time. Ask yourself "is this the best use of my time?" before you start anything."

Concentration is important because you should have focus on the prize. Make sure that you know your game plan, as well as take action on the plan. When you ask yourself whether or not if it is the best use of your life at that time it simply means to keep your priority straight. Do you want to have that certain person, and or object in your life? Is it a distraction? An example could be if you are in a relationship with someone and that person does not motivate you to do better or strive to accomplish your goal. It doesn't always have to be a person, it could be electronics, for example your cellular device, or your computer of some sort. Keep your priorities in line and stay concentrated.

Key 4: Common Sense:

Quote:
  • Train your mind
  • Think things through
  • Listen to your intuition
  • Learn from setbacks
Common sense is quite important because you should think about the outcome before you take action. Common sense is also basic information that you should know about any particular situation. In a way, common sense is used to pass by wisdom and or knowledge to a younger person who doesn't have it. For example, my mother passed down her knowledge when it came to keeping the house clean and the techniques i could use. Common sense is known to be a basic ability to understand, and judge people with a reasonable debate. Common sense is not common sense without common and or sense. Common sense is sense that you should already have without someone teaching you

Key 5: Creativity:

Quote: "Except the fact that every human being is a genius. The hallmark of creativity is asking questions. The people who are most creative ask the most questions."

Creativity is important to have because at times your life can be dull. When you are creative it shows that you as a person could be spontaneous and you then have the ability to avoid boring situations that you may not get out of. By using your own ideas and having originality you can catch peoples attention; therefore, you could meet new people and experience new friendships. With imagination, you could easily find new solutions to certain problems that you come across. By creating solutions it is displayed that you as a person as a strong mind and could face an obstacle that can come your way. With creativity the majority of the people are open minded and have the ability to view the situation in different point of views.

Key 6: Consideration:

Quote: "The quality of your relationships with other people will determine your success in life."

Consideration is important because it displays the type of relationships you have with someone. For example, if you have respect for others, most likely other people would like to be involved in your life and or be your friend. Consideration means to provide emotions into the relationships you carry with people. For example, it is important to focus on the other persons emotions throughout the journey. You also have to consider how the person takes in the situation because it shows that you as a person have sympathy for things that occur.

Key 7: Consistency:

Quote: "Be consistent in your relationships, your family, friends, your boss, your work. Be the person

Consistency is important because it displays a type of power that you have. It shows that you remind yourself everyday what your goals are and you are willing to take the steps necessary to accomplish them. Consistency can be used as a safety net when you are doubting yourself of whether or not you want to continue what your goal was in the first place. Consistency usually kicks in when you the person, begin to doubt whether your plan is worth it or not. Most likely your plan is worth completing to the end, but some people usually give up in the middle of the entire process, simply because they lack consistency.

Key 8: Commitment:

Quote: "No success is possible without commitment. The ability to commit yourself whole heartily is the basis of achieving all success."

Commitment is important when wanting to complete a goal because without it, you most likely won't succeed. Being committed can led to bigger and better outcomes. For example, you will have the satisfaction of accomplishing your goals. A real life example is when you are in a relationship with another person, if you are committed to the other person then you could accomplish being faithful, and or loyal to someone. Also if you've been with that person long enough, others could say "What?! They are still together?!" Which is a great thing to hear when you put your trust in someone else. When it comes to academics, and you stay committed to your classes, then a great turn out could be receiving good grades that could lead to more exciting things like honor roll and college even. When in a sport, it is important to stay committed and attend practice everyday because other people rely on you so that the team could improve as a whole. How could the team rely on you or ask you for help when you, yourself are lost and or are out of practice?

Key 9: Courage:

Quote: "The fear of failure is the single greatest reason for failure in life."

Courage is important for a person because it is a tool that could be used in everyday life. By having courage, it can lead you to being consistent, and committed towards the goal that you wish to accomplish. You have to be committed, and consistent to wanting to accomplish your wonderful goals in life. This could be completed with the help of being encouraged, and or having courage throughout the journey. You should stop allowing fear to stop you from doing the things that you would like to do.

Key 10: Confidence:

Quote: "You only get confidence by doing things over and over again."

Confidence is important because you should believe in yourself. By believing in yourself you could build enough confidence in which to continue your journey and complete the requirements that are necessary. By gaining confidence you could gain other skills that may or may not be useful in the situation that you may be in. For example, you could develop the skills of having courage, and or being consistent. You should also be committed, and you could gain that if you feel confident towards the goal that you are considering to accomplish.

Reflection:

Quote: "Write a final all-encompassing reflection about the 10 keys to personal power."

These 10 keys could benefit me if i follow them because it provided specific examples on how to live life and it teaches students to gain important skills, such as being confident, being committed and keeping your eyes on the prize. The keys that i have applied to my life is being confident. The difference that it is making throughout my life is that i feel great about myself in a sense where i feel happy. Confidence gives you a sort of power that makes you want to become successful. When i did decide that i wanted to be successful it was for myself, and i knew what i would get out of it. I also decided to apply myself towards the tasks that were required to be completed, as in being committed. I want to complete every high school requirement necessary in order to graduate, and move on to the college life of academics. Applying consideration was an important aspect in my life, because i was able to understand and accept the thought of failure. Without failure, how could you ever become successful. The way i want to incorporate the other keys into my life planning goals is by incorporating each and every one of them into my daily routine. If i am consistent about these keys, then sooner or later the keys will be engraved into my brain, and it will be apart of me which is something that i am most definitely looking forward to having.

Character and Personality

What i learned from the video is that you should prioritize yourself. When you prioritize you acknowledge that you need to apply yourself towards the activities that are more important to be completed. Our life is like an ice berg. More than half of the ice berg is sunk in the water, and the rest of the 25% is sticking out of the surface. The piece that is sticking out is labeled "Personality". The part that is sunk is called "Character". The video states that the majority of people only focus on the personality end of life. Everybody tries to change their likes and dislikes in order to fit in with one another. The problem is that the Character is what people should put time into. Focus on the things that define that type of person you wish and or want to be.
